SAML integration with Google

Here are the steps in order to make SAML integration with Google

Step 1: Access Google Workspace Admin Console

Log in to the Google Workspace Admin Console using your administrator account.
In the left-hand menu, navigate to Apps > Web and mobile apps.

Step 2: Add a Custom SAML App

Click on Add app and select Add custom SAML app.
Enter a name for the app, such as ClouDNS, and click Continue.

Step 3: Configure ClouDNS in Google Workspace

Download the Metadata file provided by Google Workspace.
Log in to ClouDNS and upload the Metadata file in the SAML configuration popup.
When you upload the file to ClouDNS, an ACS URL will be generated—make sure to copy it.

Step 4: Complete SAML Configuration in Google Workspace

Return to Google Workspace and click Continue to proceed with the SAML configuration.
Paste the copied ACS URL into the following fields:

  • ACS URL
  • Entity ID

Ensure the checkbox for Signed response is ticked.

Step 5: Configure Name ID Format

Under Name ID format, select EMAIL from the dropdown menu.
Click Continue.

Step 6: Finalize the Configuration

If you do not need to map specific attributes, click Finish to complete the setup.
